 Volunteer to Judge

Ohio DECA members compete in a wide variety of competitive events that require dedicated volunteers to help assist in judging our competitions at a local and state level. Judges are needed in the following areas:

Role Plays: In this competition, students (either individually or in a team of two) are tasked with developing an idea to solve a real-world business scenario and are given a set amount of time to develop their plan. Competitors do not know the situation in advance and will really rely on their previous knowledge and ability to think on their feet to succeed. They will then present their findings to the judge.

Prepared Presentations: For these competitions, students will have prepared a presentation in advance that they will present in a "Shark Tank" style presentation. These presentations range from sales projects or research presentations on specific topics, entrepreneurial pitches for a fictious new business, as well as explanations of a large project implement by their DECA chapter.

Written Events: Several of the competitive events that require a presentation also require a written document of at maximum 20 pages in length. Judges till be necessary to help review these written materials in advance of the State Conference.
